"You did this Gustavo!" she screamed, unable to contain her wavering voice and stray tears.
He stayed quiet, furrowing his brows as he looked down at his desk.
"I did this?" he lowly asked.
Her breath came in sharp and uneven as she ran a shaky hand through her thick hair.
"Yeah," she replied breathlessly, her chest rising and falling with each ragged breath.
He nodded, shoving his hands into his pockets.
"I pursued you?" he asked.
"Well...no," she admitted softly, her gaze dropping to the floor.
"I asked you out?" he pressed, his tone demanding.
"No..." she said, her breathing beginning to steady.
"Did I ask you to go anywhere fucking near me?" he angrily said, biting out every word through gritted teeth.
He slowly walked towards her, fury in his eyes as he stared down at her. She stumbled back, hitting the door with a muted thud.
"No, Gustavo," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
He looked upon her like a venomous snake. Franny, with her back pressed against the smooth wooden door, couldn't meet his unyielding gaze.
Gustavo placed his hands flat against the door, his fingers splayed wide. He leaned in close, his cool breath sending shivers down her spine.
"You could've known who I was from the start, Franny," he said softly, his voice carrying a dangerous edge, "and you'd still be standing right here."
