The child care system made the decision to put 5 teens from different care homes into one group home. 5 teens with all a different back story, the one more fucked up than the other. All 5 kids have a past, not a good one. The idea of this house was to let the kids help each other out, with their mentor there to help them through the progress. The kids will learn how to open up, socialize, let their guards down and most importantly they'll learn how to trust. How to have faith in other human beings. Friends and family are the most important things in life and when you lack that part especially during childhood, it get's lonely.
