What if the avatar cycle didn't stop when Aang went into his 100-year hibernation but continued? Just not how you think. What if fate was written in stone, and when Aang was meant to die, the next Aavatar was born? Except her powers hadn't yet awakened. Sixteen years ago, the day Aang was meant to die, Kairi, a northern water tribe bender, was born. This is her journey.
This story will be a Zuko x oc. The story won't be too long. It will start in Season Two of the animated series. Also, the timeline will be faster in some parts and slower in others, there will be information from The Legend of Korra in here. By the series' end, zuko and Mc will be 18. It will be a Mai x Ty Lee ship because it's something I like. Also, Katara will be kind of annoying till the chapter with the southern raiders.
Kairi has coffee brown hair(so really dark) electric blue eyes, and mid-back wavy hair, and she's built a lot like Korra, I have added some drawings I made in hopes it helps!

Takes place maybe 5-6 years after ATLA arc. Aged up. Edit: Zuko doesn't have the best people skills, or leadership skills to be honest. But guess who does? It may take some time for him to realize it, but Zuko enlists Sokka to help with another redemption arc for the Fire Nation. Working together, learning together, loving toge- who said anything about that?! Wait, are there feeling here? Feelings can't get in the way of the mission...world peace is at stake! (Also, how I want to envision the bridge between ALTA and LoK to be established. All it takes is some gayyy) "It's the meeting with the other nations. They all think I have all the answers!" Zuko threw up his arms in aggravation. "I don't know what I'm doing!?" He slumped down onto the foot of Sokka's bed, holding his face in his hands. enemies, to friends, to lovers. ______________ hi there. so, this is modern. they still have bending, ba sing se is a place etc. it's just like ATLA except with technology i guess? not sure how to explain it. but we've got zukka because im in love with it, kataang and then.. toph. but there is not firelord stuff or anything like that. i'm editing this 3 chapters in because it followed the plot line better LMAO suki died. i haven't put too much research into when she died, but i'm gonna say this is like a year or so after the last episode of atla. they need to be aged up LMAO sokka is 17, zuko 18. katara 16 and for the sake of the plot aang is also 16. toph is 15. mature content warning. minimal swearing if y'all care LMAO. its slow burn and a lot of beating around the bush. they don't wanna admit anything and sokkas just overall afraid to love again after every woman or girl he's loved has died in some form. minus katara and toph. zukos head over heels you could say, he's realizing what affection really feels like. so this leaves him questioningComplete

Fire Lord Ozai discovered her Air Nomad origins and he imprisoned her for three years. She got to meet the royal family before it was broken. When she managed to escape she ran away to the Water Tribes. She had been there ever since, protecting the defenseless people from the ruthless Fire benders as well as her bending. A new Air Bender appears, and it didn't take long when a Fire Navy ship arrived the deserted icy lands of the South.
