After her graduation party goes awry when beings she can only describe as Vampires take her mother and best friend, Rose lies in a hospital bed recovering from blood loss. A strange girl arrives telling her of an unknown grandmother that can help her find them and uses a blinding light to heal her wounds. Unsure what else to do she embarks on an adventure that takes her across realms where she meets the myths and monsters of fantasy and legend, makes new friends and discovers old ones, all while fighting powerful enemies. Along the way Rose may just discover her true power and a destiny she never knew she had.
