"Can't you just stop covering up for him already?!" she said, shouting angrily as tears kept rolling down her eyes. 
 
"How dare you talk back to me?! I am your mother, and don't you have any respect for your father?!" Her mother said angrily, disappointed as her daughter is being impertinent. 

"You're being crazy, mom. That person doesn't even have to be respected. He lied to you. He had a mistress, and you even pretended that you didn't know a thing about it. We were together at that time!"
 

Serene sighed, as she was already frustrated. She's upset that her mom just wouldn't admit it all. Still, she wants to calm her down because she knows she's already tired from work, so Serene hopes for her mom to get some rest, so she will swallow her ego for now and just deal with it when their problems are not many anymore. 

"I made a mistake, I apologize, and I am correcting the behavior, but I can't promise that I won't say a word about it again" she said, looking deeply into her mother's eyes as if telling her that she wants her to stop denying it anymore as she already knows the truth. 

Her father is dead. She always knew about it, and she just asked about it now that she's already working. It's quite obvious, but her mother still keeps denying it and says that he never had a mistress before he died, when in fact she saw them when she was still a child.All Rights Reserved

The steps became louder as if the person were just a few steps away from opening the door. I don't want rumours to be spread here. An evil smile formed on the corner of his lips looking at the distress on my face. "I'm not afraid to be seen with my wife," he said in his deep, low voice, sending shivers down my spine.
