Kali Brunne was no enigma. He was almost as predictable as a cracker, always remaining the same dry thing that it was when it didn't have something to accompany it. He was essentially a nobody. He was nothing without someone to completely lead his life, shaping every action he performed, every thought he had, and every emotion he felt.

Now, think, what does a desperate man do when he no longer wishes to succumb to the influence of others? Naturally, he flies out of his cage.

Kali breaks free of the shackles that bind him and runs far, far away. But now he isn't just unfettered; he's alone. He does not know who he is now or who he once was before he was bound to his toxic love. Having long fallen under his ex-lover's sway and forgetting his true self, he must now work to find a purpose in life. The new home he's happened upon seems just the perfect place, being a peaceful, private, and deceptively honest abode for him to relax and heal in.

The only downside of the new arrangement would be his wary housemates, yet unwilling to allow a stranger into their embrace. But who's to say the future won't show a different outcome?
