In a world where everyone believes in one god since there angles flying around the city protecting the hire rich snobs forgetting The low people with birth marks dictating there importance in life. Birth marks given by the angles to decide there destiny but there is one child that doesn't care about god and how he can't decide his destiny. Angry at how his did an an unforgivable act. this is a story about fighting Peoples inner demons manifesting into their psyche. creating literal demons and how a pacifist wants to save everyone but he's constantly losing because everyone hateshim due to him using a mysterious that is said to drain reality of its energy said by God.
(Note the story does not take place here as what I said above what's above is in the story that the author of Max story (the main character that everyone hates using forbidden energy) max is in a separate book that the main character in the beginning of code X story. But it's all in within the same book that you physically read. It's just that the author of Max story.  is the main character of code X and max story is another story that the author writes to escape his shitty world)
