Ashley is basically the Queen of Nerds at her stereo-type filled high school, and being abused at home doesn't really help. But what happens when the most popular boy at school sees her bruises?

______________

"Here let me help." It was Jason. He was in the girls bathroom, the girls bathroom.

"That's ok." I mumbled turning away. The bruise was starting to show.

"No I insist." He grabbed my arm and turned me around. I winced and looked up at him.

He started to dab like I was doing, then he started to rub. He stared at my arm intently.

"Is that a bruise?" He asked looking at me then the bruise and back and forth.

"Yeah, I, um fell off my um...bike! Yeah my bike!" I said.

He rolled his eyes and let go of my arm.

"Well whatever just get that checked out." He said smiling.

"Why do you care?" I asked.

"Because I'm trying to be nice," Then he mumbled, "It's not like you have friends anyway."

"Hey! That's not nice." I said furrowing my eyebrows.

He held up his hands in a no offense motion.

"I'm just saying you could use some friends." He said.

She looks up at me, taking a step forward and smiling slightly, "How can I ever get hurt when I have you here to protect me?" "But you could have gotten hurt," I murmur softly, hanging my head and feeling my shoulders drop, the tension seeping from my body. "No. Stop," She cuts me off sternly but tenderly, "Don't talk like that, Reece. I'm okay, you're okay, we're okay," She speaks softly, reaching her hand up to gently brush her thumb over my cheek, just under the cut that's there. "We're okay," I repeat, taking a small step closer to her. She nods with a small smile, moving her hand down from my cheek and instead placing the palm of her hand on my chest, right over my heart. I know she can feel how fast my heart is beating. I just don't know why it's doing that. ~ Reece Carter is the bad boy of Northwood High. He smokes and he fights. Terrible story, don't read. I didn't have my own mind when I started this, and only wrote what everyone else was writing. This isn't me and I hope you don't judge me by it. Probably deleting soon. Guardians of Freecaster High #1 "That doesn't make any sense. You were the one who left me. You didn't care anymore." "If I didn't care, Alexis, then why is it I can't touch another girl unless I'm imagining you?" He pushes against me, trapping me against the wall, his minty beer breath skating across my lips. "J-Jace, you don't have t-to do this," I stammer, already losing the fight as my body melts against his. Jace's hand moves to trace his thumb across my bottom lip. "Why do I obsess about kissing you again? Why do memories of holding you still haunt me?" His face pinches in agony. "Why can't I do the right fucking thing and leave you alone?" _______________________________________________ Alexis 'Lexi' Young has four goals; pass her senior year of high school, buy her own wheels, get accepted to culinary school, and forget that her ex-boyfriend ever existed. Included in those new students is none other than Jace Hall, Lexi's ex, and his motorcycle riding, street fighting, off the wall friends. As for Jace, he'll forever regret breaking Lexi's heart, but it was either that or put her in the line of danger. Now that she's in arms reach, staying away is a lot harder to do. Especially when everything she does drives him crazy. But being part of the Guardians means trouble is never far behind, and getting close to Lexi again could put a target on her back. She wants to resist old temptations and protect her heart. He wants nothing more than to pull her close and keep her safe. I search for a cup, but don't see one so Will pulls one out from under the machine. What a stupid place to hide the cups. Who's going to see that? I position it under the hole it came out of and wait, but nothing happens. "Oh." I mock. "Is this one voice-activated?" Will turns around to glance at me since he was checking out a group of girls in bikini tops and shorts. Yeah, that's totally girlfriend material. Not. "Pour!" I order, but the machine keeps moving in a circle, mixing the green goo. "Open! Spill! Fill!" "Stop it!" Will yells, taking the cup and pulling a lever until green goo comes out. "What is wrong with you?" "I thought it did it by itself." I mumble as I realize the group of girls is staring at me and laughing. Great. So much for making friends. Will walks to the counter, too embarrassed to look at the girls and slaps the cups on the counter. "Money." He orders, holding out his hand. I reach in my boot, pull it out and slap it into his hand. He looks disgusted, but hands it to the lady anyways. "You are so not in Kansas anymore."
