Born to Rule the Wild

This poem is based on Robinson Crusoe, the classic English novel written by legendary writer Daniel Defoe, first published on 25th of April, 1719. This novel is often considered the story that brought novels into popularity. It has had a huge impact on pop culture and media as a whole, influencing many popular stories that came after it.
The poem highlights how Robinson, once a slave, became the ruler of a kingdom - that being the island he was stranded on. I used the Shakespearean Sonnet structure of three quartrains and one couplet.
