The Implicit

"Yeah... so I've been told"
I'd given a reasonable amount of thought to how I would die. Even if those thoughts held such imagination and very small possibilities of happening, I did not think I would actually be in one of those very, very small and unreal categories on the death scale. Yet, here life and God has taken me, on this crazy, unreal and what is real and fake now rode.
His eyes stared me down just as mine did to his own. The intensity of his glare made me feel as prey, even in hindsight I was but the more he stared the more I became curled into myself both soul and body. The hunter was prowling around me as though I was the deer and him a lion. His eyes raked my body, hunger clear in both his eyes and face as he took longer glances at my neck.
Surely this had to be a good place to die, in the place of someone else, someone who I love. That ought to count for at least something.
I know now that if I never made the decision to move to Forks, I wouldn't be facing the predicament I am now. As terrified as I am at this moment, I can't seem to bring myself to regret my decision.
His smile seemed to grow even more if that was even possible as he sauntered forward to kill me.
