We all know how Hamato Yoshi/Master Splinter took care of the turtles as babies before finding their lair in the sewers. What if the Kraang returned to New York years later? What if only one of the turtles stays behind after going separate ways with his brothers? What if Leo ended up having the same experience his father did while raising four girls? "D-Donnie-" "Just get out." Donnie's voice is quiet again, his hand shaking as he picks up a paper. "Get out and let me figure this out in peace." Something rises in the leader, similar to the gut instinct he gains when his team is about to walk into a trap, or there's a danger lurking just out of sight. He knows that it would be easy to leave, to obey his stressed younger brother and allow him to continue his work. In a way, this had been what he'd wanted, hadn't it? But this is wrong. Donnie had left during their argument a few evening before. Left on a horrible note of blame and anger and stress that hadn't faded. His little brother may not have realized it yet, but they needed to remedy this or it was only going to get worse. Leo started this, and now he's going to finish it.Complete

Subsequent to the battle of the turtles vs. Shredder, Leonardo gets captured. After being tortured and with little to eat or drink in a small cell, Shredder demands answers about Splinter and the turtles. With the little time that he has left before it is too late, he realizes the only way to survive is to escape. But how can he break out without the help of his brothers? The Donnie Christmas Caper
A TMNT Christmas Mystery None of the turtles knew what had gotten into Donatello. His strange behavior confused them, the genius turtle always choosing December to duck into his lab and refuse to reappear. He'd work in there for days at a time, refusing to let his brothers enter the lab for any reason. Donnie would then stay locked up in his lab until Christmas morning when he'd reappear and act as though nothing ever happened. When questioned, he'd simply shrug off their concerns or puzzlement and change the conversation. Eventually, his family simply left the subject alone. All but Mikey, who was determined to figure out what Donnie was up before Christmas arrived. Inspired by a close friend of mine who shares my love of TMNT and Donatello!
