After many years of hostility between Athens and Crete over the death of the Cretan prince, a tenuous peace is struck in the form of a marriage agreement. Every nine years hence, seven youths and seven maids sail from Athens, expecting a marriage into the aristocracy of Crete. What they find instead is a bloodthirsty monster and a king who has not forgotten the past. In order to marry, they must survive one day in the Minotaur's labyrinth, but no one has ever returned. With the newest tribute, however, sails Theseus, prince of Athens, who has been promised the hand of the beautiful Princess Ariadne, and he doesn't intend to die quietly. With the help of Ariadne, he prepares to face the Minotaur, but no one can predict the rift the Minotaur's death will leave behind or the world on the other side. This is a story I wrote in middle school that I have decided to heavily revise. My hope is to share chapters as I edit them and eventually publish the finished book. That said, if you see any mistakes, feel free to point them out. Thanks for reading!
