Lorelai Extrum, fourteen, never quite understood the concept of a home. A couple of motels, a duplex, a wide variety of group homes and then foster homes that never lasted more than a couple of months to a year at most.
However, that all chances when two people, Arin Hanson and Suzy Berhow, decide to take a chance on her, despite the troubled past. They show her an entirely new world, one that is not covered in filth and grime and misery. But, when that troubled past comes to weave itself with her new life, will the bonds of their unconventional family continue to level up, or will it ultimately succumb to a brutal fatality?
