Have you ever had one of those moments when you see something so strange it makes you blink, shake your head and strain your neck to try and catch another glimpse.
It all happens so quickly, just a flicker of an instant, but it's burnt into your memory like a camera snapping a photograph. You play it over and over in your head as if you were watching an old movie, ruminating within your own thoughts. You wonder if your eyes are playing tricks on you, you must've imagined it. You eventually try to dismiss your thoughts, pull your face into a half smirk and get on with your day.
But it's there.... in the back of your mind, you can't fully let it go. It comes back like a bad curry on takeaway night. You debate it logically as it rolls through your head. Eventually, the 'normal' people WILL move on, store the memory somewhere in the back of their mind and forget it ever happened.
Unfortunately, as it turns out, I'm not what you call 'a normal person', although I didn't know it at the time. This exact kind of weird moment happened to me and turned out to be the beginning... and the end, all at the same time.
I know it sounds strange, but it was the evolution into a new life and the end of everything comfortable and familiar. We all fool ourselves into thinking we know who we are, and where we come from, but what if it all turns out to be a lie, and the truth once we know it, will change us forever.
100 years ago during a solar eclipse a strange light fell to the earth. No one knows if that light fell from the heavens all that is known is destruction shortly followed. On that day humanity found itself at the mercy of a deadly virus. The world was brought crumbling to its knees. The surviving humans found refuge from the virus in vaults made originally for containment of human experiments. This virus sent the world into an apocalyptic stone age. 50 years after the virus humans around the globe began to develop anomalies in their bodies causing strange mutations. Those who had been affected by this mutation were no longer recognizable. They were monsters rampaging through the devastated world. That is until a strange case where a woman was infected but did not mutate. She was thought to have been the cure. Little did they know she was actually the cause for the world we live in today. That's right she was the first, Tina Primrose, the virus eventually seemed to died off as the descendants of Tina became hunters who'd hunter their brethren with the abilities gifted to them through the blood of Tina Primrose. Then there was the war between the remaining humans and those monsters. Naturally the humans won with our aid. Life was fine as we rebuilt the world until the day of our betrayal. The new government formed by the humans banished us from this world and we were hunted down. The last surviving members of the Primrose bloodline were two siblings. A Boy named Dakota Isaragi Primrose and his sister formed a group known as L.U.N.A. An Organization dedicated to those who have been born with the cursed bloodlines to find solace. The government attacked the organization but to save his brethren Dakota struck a deal with the Government to spar the lives of the members of the organization if he turned himself over to the government. Sadly, he was also betrayed. His brethren slain and his memory wiped the government believed they'd won but, the battles only just begun.
