She never did anything extremely displeasing to her parents. Seems perfect, right?

Wrong.

Micky's past isn't as perfect as she makes it out to be. To hide herself from her past, she puts a happy cover up. Nobody could mend her wounds.

Adam Cross was the school's bad boy, or bully.
He too, has a dark backstory, but he doesn't believe in putting up a cover. Instead, he believes in showing his emotions. But in his case, you wouldn't want to get on his bad side when he shows it.
