Surviving The Undead

An unknown virus had suddenly spread across the world, turning people into literal animals. The whole world came down within one day changing everyone's future, survival had become the top priority for anyone who remained alive. Valerie, an 18-year-old girl fights for her life every day with so many unexpected events to happen ahead of her. Will she survive for long? Will she be able to feel peace again?

Notes: Hi everyone, this is my first time writing something like this... I hope you guys enjoy it. Please remember there will be errors and such since I've never written something like this and my vocabulary is a bit limited, but I hope to broaden it throughout this story. This is heavily inspired by The Last of Us (lol) I just loved everything about it, but I hardly find any sapphic love stories taking place during a zombie apocalypse (a little niche lol), not saying The Last of Us is about that but I wanted to add my twist to it and mainly focus on this being the journey of a young girls survival, but also the love interest who is also another female (ellie). I'm debating whether it be enemies to lovers.... who knows? Either way, enjoy my loves.

Some key points:
I'm choosing to incorporate what the virus is and how it spreads like in TLOU which is cordyceps
Ellie's story will be the same, her immunity and having Joel too but the period won't be as long as it is in the video game/show since the main focus is Valeries' (reader) life, and then their relationship. So, again everything that has happened to Ellie in the FIRST game will have already happened once Ellie and Val meet. I feel no need to incorporate anything from the first game if you already know what happened.
I have no problem if some choose to incorporate their name instead of Valerie, do as you wish.
