Summary:
Just what the world needs, another Harry and Hermione fall in love in the tent fic. But! Hopefully this is done with heart and definitely no bashing.
They were a few spots away from the last location they were together with Ron, but it didn't stop Hermione from glancing up at the sound of breaking twigs, or the rustle of leaves, or the quieter whispers of wind. By some animal instinct, every time she glanced up he did too. He couldn't help but think of frightened deer, their ears pert and rotating, eyes focused, alert, listening for wolves. The main difference for them was that they wanted the wolf to come.
His glanced away from the empty forest to Hermione's dark eyes, still searching. "He won't find us." He used the sharp tone again, he still didn't mean it that way.
Her eyes moved to his, injured, her mouth bowed in pain. He felt a stab of remorse. To his surprise she moved closer to him instead of turning away. Their spheres of sadness had been separate the last few days, their moroseness quiet, however loud it felt inside his head.

Forest eyes
I locked eyes with it. Its amber gaze pierced through me, like it could smell my fear. There was something ancient in that gaze, something that stirred an unsettling feeling deep in my gut, a sensation I couldn't quite shake. Its claws scraped against the earth, long and curved, leaving deep marks in the fresh dirt as it moved closer. I could hear its paws thud against the ground, massive and deliberate, each step sending another shock of terror through me. The silence that followed was unnerving, heavy in the air, but then a loud crack shattered the stillness. It came from the forest-close, too close. The beast whipped its head back to the forest, quickly turning his whole body around so I was behind him. The shock from him turning so fast made me stumble a few feet backwards. The ground beneath us seemed to shift as it suddenly lunged forward, its muscles rippling with terrifying power. With one mighty leap, it vaulted over the rotting wooden fence, clearing the barrier effortlessly. The impact of its landing shook the earth beneath my feet. I staggered again, trying to keep my balance as I watched the creature, now free, pause on the other side of the fence. It cocked its head backwards meeting my gaze one final time. Then, without another notice, it darted into the forest, disappearing into the darkness like a shadow swallowed by night. I stood there, my body still trembling, staring at the empty space where the creature had been. The night had swallowed it whole. And though the sounds of the forest returned, soft and distant, the terror of that moment lingered. Was it still out there? Watching? Waiting? My eyes darted back and forth in the forest, trying to see it still hung around. I didn't know, but I couldn't shake the feeling that this encounter, this creature, was only the beginning. She could feel the vampires inching closer on three sides The anti-apparition wards had to be close by, she could almost feel them lifting just beyond the field. An engine squeals and as she whips her head to look a motorbike comes into view speeding from the tree line directly at Hermione. Hermione begins to turn and run in the opposite direction but was halted as she saw two more vampires emerge from the forest she had just been running from. The motor bike reached her before any vampire did and skid to a stop in front of her. A powerful dark curse flings out of the maniac drivers wand, past Hermione and at the vampires emerging from the woods. The vampires that are hit with it fall instantly. The others, sensing the dark magic freeze apprehensively on the spot. Hermione looked back at the driver, her eyes wild from flight and fear. He flicks the visor of his full faced helmet up revealing the penetrating silver eyes Hermione had been dreaming of since she had awoke from her coma. "Get on, Granger!" the voice commands . . . Excerpt Two: "Are you sure you're safe, Granger?" Draco asked and took a step closer to her. "After all . . ." Draco took another step towards her. Hermione steeped back, one step, then two as he moved closer to her. All her emotions for him from the time she'd spent in a coma with him came swirling back. Had that even been real? She tired to reason with her feelings. "You're all alone with a death eater." He finished. Hermione hit a wall and was forced to stop. "A cold," Draco took another step towards her, "ruthless," he took a final step, putting his body only an inch away from her, "killer." Draco's face dropped closer to Hermione's. She could feel the warmth of his breath on her cheek. Smell the oaky crisp scent of his skin. A luring scent, it pulled at her . . .
