Watching your parents get murdered on your 8th birthday is traumatic. But getting adopted by the murderer of your parents only for him to make you go through a bunch of experiments and brainwashing takes the cake, yes? ___ "My name's April or it used to be, I don't even remember anything about what I used to be. just a shadow of the little girl I was and into a killer that takes lives." "The only survivor of the Shadow Black Project. She got killing on her mind, death in her eyes and blood on her hands." *** Disclaimer: This is my original work. Any reference to existing organizations, people places is to make it realistic enough. (P.s aint got no idea of politics or gov agencies so bear with me lol)

This life is all I've ever known. Shadows, secrets, murder. I'm a trained mercenary. An assassin. My parents signed me up for the Talented and Gifted Youth Initiative in middle school after years of my teachers pushing for it, my parents finally relented. I was always steps ahead of my classmates, excelling at tests and sailing through school work like it was easy, to me it was. My parents didn't want me to be even more targeted by classmates than already was, but little did they know what the Talented and Gifted Youth Initiative was really for. On the surface, it was a government based programs with promises of scholarships to the best colleges and universities in the country but beneath the surface, we were guinea pigs. Those of us who excelled became trained assassins, government killing machines, but those of us who didn't excel, and there were many, are locked away in underground bunkers because the test and experiments drove them mad. Survival of the fittest I presume. I'm Emerson West and this is my story. Check trigger warning page before diving in! This is a dark romance! Mature audiences only!
