To officially drive a car in Canada, you must need a driver's license issued by the government. It is always with you whenever you are traveling. If you have your license, you can drive anywhere in Canada. When you have a driving license from your home country, a feasible thing that you may be able to use in Canada for a short time after your earlier residence. The best option is to check the government of your province for more details.
If you want to use a foreign driving license in Canada, you must apply for the International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country. This permit will give you a conversion of your license into English and French.
The method to get a driver's license in Canada depends on the area where you live and on your driving experience. It may consist of:
 A written exam required for the rules and regulations on the road 
 Include one or more driving test
