Tears of fire (WIP!!)

At seven years old, Christine Elar was taken to live with her father after the lands who bore her laid a curse on her blood, forever banishing the girl from ever returning to the only home she had known. For years she trained, becoming at nineteen a skilled scholar and strategist, worthy heiress of her father's lands. But there had always been a voice that called her, a voice from her previous life as an alterkin; because no matter how far she strayed from the broken lands, still her mystic blood ran through her veins and fed her flaming heart.

Now, the kingdom faces an unstoppable climb to power, quickly becoming the supremacy among the countries of the continent; and as her father's secret weapon, she is dragged along to the capital to discuss the future of the country, where she learns about a plan to conquer the lands all previous kings could only dream with. Those same lands who cursed her with the mystic blood that allows her to transform into her "otherself", that same blood that has until now allowed her father to deliver to the crown the victories that had allowed the kingdom to flourish.

Christine now faces a few choices alongside new and unexpected friendships as she questions the certainty of her story. What were the otherkin, and what had they done that made humans so despise them? What had she, as an infant, done that made her lands banish her? Were the answers to these questions worth enough to make her refuse her father's orders, going against the only family that hadn't renounced her, or would she never find the truth, and instead bring her friends down into a destiny worse than death alongside her as she makes the wrong choice?
