He informs her that Xiao's soul is scattered and that the only way to save him from falling into the depths of the underworld, is to obtain the soul-refreshing stone which was his has the ability to gather and mend a soul. She and Paimon travel back in time to a thousand years ago, where the soul-refreshing stone had remained vital. At the same time, they also encountered a completely different Xiao they haven't known before. However things get complicated when Lumine begins spending time with him while they lessly remained searching for the stone.
