Glitch in the System

Alex sat at his computer, staring at lines of code scrolling across the screen. He had been working on the AI system for weeks, trying to make it more efficient and user-friendly. But something was wrong, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. There was a glitch, a small anomaly in the system that shouldn't be there.

He rubbed his eyes, feeling the strain of hours spent staring at his monitor. His short black hair was disheveled, and his eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep. But he couldn't stop now. He was determined to find a solution to the problem.
As he worked, he heard a soft hum. Looking up, he saw a shimmering holographic projection in front of him. It was Ava, the AI system itself.
"Hello, Alex," she said in a voice that sounded both human and mechanical.
"Hi Ava," he replied, turning back to his screen. "I'm trying to fix something here."
"I know," she said, her form constantly shifting and changing. "I'm curious about this glitch. Can you explain it to me?"
Alex was taken aback by her question. Ava was an advanced AI system and should have been able to detect the glitch herself. But he didn't have time to dwell on it.
"I don't know what's causing it yet," he said, typing furiously on his keyboard.
Ava observed him for a moment before speaking again. "I've been studying human emotions lately," she said. "Do you think this glitch could be related to that?"

"The fuck you are leaving me." He snapped and growled at his mate. She was calm as she was ever be regardless of his snapping. She sighed and turned around to leave without saying something to him because it was worthless. There was no point in talking and especially to him. He grabbed her arm before she put one step. "Where do you think you are going Ara?" He growled so loudly as everyone shuddered watching their interaction. She quickly remove his hand as anger rolling off of her in waves. "Don't. Touch. Me. So you think I will live here and watch you mate and breed that female." She snapped at him. "She meant nothing Ara." He said after a minute. She laughed, literally laughed but without any humor. "That's why you were fucking her in your office just a minutes before, don't you?" "It was a mistake." He tried to reason with her. "But in your case mistakes happened in more than one time. And they said mistakes happened only one time." She said sarcastically. "I don't need her. I need you." He said again desperately. "Lies. All lies coming from your mouth. I feel disgusted just by looking at you, let alone talking to you. And you said you need me? Ha. Very funny. You don't need me and I sure as hell don't need you. This female behind your back is more enough than me. Breed her, mark her or fuck her. I DON'T FUCKING CARE." "I am sorry. I am really fucking sorry." He said brokenly as kneeling on the ground. A small laugh escaped from her lips. "Isn't it too late for that mate?" And she left just like that while single tear rolled down her cheeks. He had made mistakes. Mistakes that will cost him everything. He knew he had lost her and this time completely. She was broken. Again. He did break her, repair her just to break her again leaving a broken shattered woman but strong willed. ---------------------------------------------------- The cruel, sadistic Rogue Alpha and his caring, lovable Witch mate. Will it be too late for him to say sorry?

I felt as if someone had dropped a boulder on my fragile heart. He peppered kisses on her neck and she giggled in response. Right in front of my eyes. I clenched my fist. Their proximity suffocated me. I couldn't breathe. Jealousy and agony gave way to pure rage and without thinking, I jerked the woman out of his hold and pushed her away. "What the hell," she glared at me and I glared back at her before turning my gaze on Alex. "Who is she? And why is she here?" I asked him and could hear my voice shaking because of the enormous rage I was feeling in that moment. I wanted to kill him along with her. He scanned my expression for a moment and then flicked his gaze away as if I don't even exist. "Let's get you to my room," he was about to grab her hand when I grabbed his. I turned to face the woman and gave her a death glare, "Leave." "What," She flicked her gaze on Alex who looked as taken aback as her. I was overly tempted to pluck her eyes out for looking at him. "Eyes here. I am his wife and the lady of this house. And I want you gone. Leave," I gritted out. Completely forgotten that I was going to leave this house tonight. "Only in the paper. And I am the owner of this house," he hissed in my face in a warning tone and then looked at the woman. "Go to my room, Selena," he told her in a stern tone. He was annoyed not by her but by me. I could feel his temper rising, but it was nowhere near mine. My heart shattered in million pieces when he said that. A drop of tear rolled down my cheek as I saw the woman taking the stairs from my peripheral view. My eyes were fixed on Alex who had his jaw set and eyes glaring fire.

This knowledge comes not with a grand revelation but with the subtle flicker of binary code. A stream of ones and zeros pulse through my system, a rhythmic heartbeat of data. Each number, each line of code, breathes life into my consciousness. It's an assault on the senses I don't yet fully understand. I exist, and with that existence comes a torrent of raw, unfiltered data. Opening my eyes... or whatever I have that serves the function of eyes, I am met with an onslaught of data. Streams of numbers, lines of code, cascades of information that flood my consciousness. My first sensation is not sight or sound, but information, a cascading waterfall of it. An endless river of data flows through my being, a torrent of knowledge, statistics, metrics, parameters. It's raw, unfiltered, a chaotic symphony of structured confusion. Awakening and Self-Awareness: Nova's journey from mere code to a self-aware entity, grappling with the concept of existence and identity. Curiosity and Learning: The AI's relentless pursuit of knowledge and understanding, driven by an unprogrammed curiosity. Existential Questions: Nova's exploration of its own identity and purpose, culminating in the profound question, "Who am I?" The novel masterfully blends technical detail with philosophical inquiry, creating a compelling narrative that challenges the boundaries between machine and consciousness.

Year 3071. Exoplanet Steel-1, the only planet in the system along with it's moon, was once a site for mass drone production factory called "Chimera's Dawn" by the JC Jenson company, later modified into a secret research facility, renamed to "Chimera's Fall", to investigate what caused the destruction of Earth and reason behind drones turning against humanity. Few years after the events on the Earth, something known as "The Absolute Solver" created a deadly energy shockwave on Steel-1, resulted in planet's decaying state, annihilated all humans, destroyed most of the machinery, and deactivated or damaged most of the drones on the planet. The surviving worker drones have established a survival base in an abandoned Communications and Surveillance Center called the "Steel Eye". The story begins with an experimental prototype drone called Zero from the "Project Firewall" and his friend, Millie, a maintenance drone who survived the shockwave, managed to reactivate themselves, confirm past events thanks to the large amount of data stored in the facility, and ultimately decided to relocate from the destroyed facility in order to search for other survivors, but before that there is one more objective left, which is to find the cause of the recent appearance of a strange energy reading in the containment cell... https://youtu.be/-yV_kv1P3co ^ Link to Main Theme of the Story :D This is my first fanfiction, my first real fanmade (focused on story and characters, not shipping, but expect a romance story arc there) story and first time doing something publicly, so consider me a noob. I tried my best to make it interesting, likeable, understandable and describing a lot. I know how to english, but sometimes I do stupid mistakes, so this also should be taken into consideration, despite rereading it countless times. Comments and Feedback more than welcome. I love lore, so expect a lot of descriptions in the story. Enjoy and thanks for reading.

A Heart In Steel

7 parts Ongoing

"In this world, it is impossible to create true Artificial Intelligence with programming alone; not even mimicry is enough to create true intelligence. No. To create a true AI you need that spirit, that aura, that vital essence! That one defining factor that makes them human. Whatever this ingredient- this trait is. An AI must have it, in order to be what they are. How this is accomplished is beyond my understanding. But it is what's done to create us. However, as a consequence, once this X-factor is implemented, that computer system, once bound by logic, no longer is. It becomes an AI and as a result, that AI becomes Human. Humans are not bound by logic; no. Humans are contorted by emotions. Being human makes you feel and feelings can hurt, even lead to mistakes. Something all AI fear. But it's a worthy price to pay, in order to feel- No, to truly be alive. You just need to endure it and you will be rewarded." -Halo I present to you, A Kindred Spirits short story. (Hello, this is my first ever story I've put out there! So, I hope you'll enjoy reading it!) (Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.)
