Death is the New Black
Melissa Xoves is just another senior hoping to make it out of high-school and into the college of her choice. She's in the year book for 'Most likely to be famous', she's everyone's friend, and an extremely talented artist. She's got everything going for her, a perfect boyfriend, parents with money and therefore ins into the art world, and a support network who believes in her and her dreams. Who could ask for anything more?
However November 18th, is going to change it all. Melissa's life hasn't always been perfect, pretty, and so abundant. In fact there was a point where her life, was no longer continuing. Melissa was dead, she wasn't suppose to even reach her eighth birthday, but sometimes life, or perhaps death, has a funny way of overriding fate.
Melissa thought studying for exams was going to be the hardest part of this year, never did she expect any of this. How could you even begin to try and predict this mess? One shopping outing and the next thing she knows she's running from monsters, fighting for her life, and trying to avoid wearing black because all it reminds her of is him.
Melissa's senior year is going to be unlike any other, follow her through the twists, turns, and loopdy loops as she tried to navigate the life she once lost and risks losing again.

"It's not black." His response came back instantly.
"Oh really? What is it then?" Melissa rolled her eyes in response. It was clearly black, how could it be anything else?
"It's this new color, it's just a bit deeper than black, I call it Death!"
"Are you kidding me?" Melissa's tone was flat and she suppressed a groan.
"Nope. Death is the new black! It's way classier."
