The stalker closest to me drops dead, the other one not far behind. I can't even bring myself to cry, even now I'm still unable to preserve myself. Unable to spare myself the fate of becoming one of them, a stalker in the night. I cough, hoping I pass out first and don't have to wake up for what lies in store for me. As the stalker gets closer, my eyes close as I begin to accept my fate. If I am to die, I will at least have survived longer than most. Maybe the grass will grow over me before I turn into one of them and hold me here for eternity. Maybe A flower will grow over me, attracting bees to care for my body.
Maybe I won't have to experience anymore pain, alive... or dead.
