After Agent Eight escapes the Deepsea Metro, a whole new chapter of his life begins to unfold. But it's far from the peaceful, fun-loving world he was promised. After a routine Squidbeak Splatoon meeting turns violent, Eight moves in with Three, who sets to work introducing Eight to the life of the Surface and doing everything in his power to make Eight's new life easy, safe, and happy. But tensions are brewing on the horizon, and the war between the Inklings and Octolings is starting to come to a head. No one can escape their past, and Eight will be forced to face his haunting memories of the Deepsea Metro if he's going to have any chance at protecting the people he cares about. As the world is crumbling around them, Three and Eight struggle to protect each other and their relationship, all while trying to save the entire Octoling race from a terrible fate. The war isn't over. It's only just begun.
