"We are most alive when we're in love."
-John Updike

Margot Love has always held on a bit too tightly to her past. Leading a life robbed of love. Even her last name is a constant reminder of how she pushes people away, repelling a life with love. She finds herself haunted by the loss of her parents at a young age. Feeling unwanted with every foster home she dwelled in as a child. She tries desperately to fade her scars with one unhealthy relationship after another.

Margot has worked hard over the years to become an Emergency Room Nurse. As well as, renovating an old farm house in Maine to finally have a place she can call home. Trying to move on and forget her past becomes ever more challenging. Feeling broken inside, the notion of ending her own life protrudes her thoughts..

That is until her best and probably only friend Kat, secretly signs her up for a blind-date photo shoot. Where she's paired up with a stunning carpenter named Cal. He's not Margot's typical attraction. He's sensitive, protective and passionate about life. He loves hard, and soon he finds himself loving Margot even harder.

Falling for a complete stranger is naïve and fictional. However, Margot finds herself besotted with Cal's charm and wonders if its too good to be true..

Is Margot able to give up on her past, allowing a love like Cal's to exist?
Is Cal's love for Margot strong enough to save her from herself?
