Tythia's people have been fighting against the Wild Ones, dangerous creatures who inhabit the planet's forests, for hundreds of years. Being bitten by one is a death sentence-but what happens when you survive? 

This is a story I wrote and publish a couple years ago, shined up, and published again. Even though the idea's a bit on the rusty side, I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's fun to revisit my previous writing styles,Todos los derechos reservados

Through the rain drops that fall on me from the treetops, I can feel the icy breath of a dawning winter. It will be cold this year. It's a shame Ill never see it- I love the cold. Most cold. This cold that envelopes me now is hostile and uninviting, almost empty. They say that when you're faced with death, your life flashes before your eyes. The same could not be said for me. Creatures long forgotten have been released. Creatures good... and evil. Creatures seeking revenge. Grizela West (Griz) is definitely not normal. She doesn't even look human, which led to her being thrown out of home at an early age. After accidently killing a person (she closed a lid on a bin that was later emptied with a man inside), she is on the run from everything she has known for most of her life. The people who she has grown up with, who has helped her, are hunting her. They aren't the only ones. A being, one of those who has been imprisoned until being released, wants revenge. It won't stop until it dies, or until those who it hunts is dead. After finding a scent that is different but similar to its own, and to those it hunts, it will search far and near for the owner.

We all thought we were the ones at the top of the food chain, completely untouchable. However it was like I said, we 'thought' we were. I see the little 8 year old boy from last night run away crying, one of Ruby's cousins. When I turn the corner I see a boy about 20 and am hit with an overpowering smell something like fresh cut wood and autumn leaves. It is amazing. I see the guy turn towards me and duck behind the house I am standing by before he sees me. Nope! Not him! Not happening! I hear footsteps coming towards me and run. Into the woods I find a pine tree. Perfect! Pine trees are great hiding places. The branches hide you visually and the smell masks your scent. I climb up as quickly as I can and watch the guy approaching. He circles my tree looking around but eventually gives up and goes back towards the houses. "Mate!" My wolf happily purs. "Not him!" I respond. "Denial." She says. "Refusal." I counter and she growls at me. "You will NOT reject him!" She orders. "He is a bully!" "He is mate!" "He commanded that kid when he could have just talked to him! He is a bully with no patience!" "He is an Alpha!" She purrs with pride at his rank. I don't care! "I don't want him!" "The one you want isn't mate. He isn't yours. He isn't interested... I want mate!" "No." I block her out and climb down the tree.
