"Don't worry your pretty head off about it," Vox said smoothly, flashing me a sharp-toothed smile. "I'm protecting you, see? I'm not going to hurt you or anything." 

"What makes you think that I'll believe you?" I protested weakly. And yet, I let him hold my hands to stop me shaking. 

Vox pulled me behind him and killed another gun-wielding sinner, unfazed.

"Then I suppose you'll just have to trust me, darling."

Vox considered himself the most level-headed of the Vees. Charismatic and manipulative, he's determined to control every sinner in Pentagram City until the Vees come out on top as the best overlords of Hell. Hah, he'll definitely try and succeed even Alastor of all overlords. 

But all of that gets pushed aside when he meets a sinner that's immune to his mind control. 

And despite himself, Vox finds that he's drawn to this shy yet noticeable sinner.
