A w|w high school romance story of a foreign exchange student. This is book 1/2 of this series! Over 3,000 miles away from home is where Francesca or Chesca Bertucci ends up after making a mistake. The mistake was getting caught with a girl in a town that believes being gay is wrong. So Francesca's mother sends her 3,000 miles away from her home town of Positano, Italy to the city of Portland, Maine so that she can 'fix' herself away from the girl who 'tainted' her. Doomed to stay a year in the US, Francesca plans on keeping to herself and playing soccer until she turns 18 and can return home to Italy without being under her mother's control. But something gets in her way. Or should I say, someone? Her new teammate, Jamie Hartt. A girl that Francesca falls in love with despite being raised to believe that loving a girl is wrong. There's just one problem. Francesca's exchange year isn't going to last forever. Eventually she has to go home to Italy, but maybe Italy doesn't feel like home anymore. Maybe someone else as changed her mind about what 'home' is.
