I stared deeply at Alexander and through the dim light I could see a tear trickle down his cheek. I scooted my chair closer to his and rested my head on his shoulder.

Riley and Devin have been best friends forever-since Kindergarten. It's Senior year of high school, now. And it's always been simple, Riley's got his back, he's got hers. But as life goes on Riley can't help but wonder if maybe he's not just her best friend, if she likes him as possibly something more. As her feelings deepen and become something greater it becomes more evident that she's falling, really hard. No matter how hard Riley tries she can't stop falling, she can't stop from loving him. Even if it tears her to pieces or even if it destroys their friendship. Pretty soon Riley is going to have to choose between walking the safe line of friendship or taking the unpaved path of love. We've been together for almost four years. I always believed you loved me." Tears filled her eyes as she added, "This isn't love-love is built on trust. I trusted you completely, never questioning why you came home late, why you seemed to hate me, or why you left me on our wedding night. Yet here you are, ruining my reputation without any proof." He ignored her desperate questions and tightened his grip on her neck, his eyes turning red with fury. "Trust? You talk about trust. It was my faith in love that kept you alive. If anyone else were in your place, I'd kill them without a second thought." She struggled to escape his choking hold, fighting desperately. Suddenly, he released her and walked away, his anger clear as he never looked back. Coughing and gasping for air, she lay there, her body trembling.
