I was sad when I wrote this poem. I am missing my Aunt Debbie who passed away from cancer in February of 2012, Been a few years now hasn't it. Hm.

The Boy She Saw in the Hospital
"Death isn't just one thing that happens and is over with. That description fits life more. Death is eternal. I mean that's how I view it. Death brings joy and pain. In my opinion life should be viewed as death is. The end. Death is the beginning. A new life, a fresh new start. Its beauty is unmatched. I imagine it feels like stars bursting, a million smiles and just pure happiness." Cancer. What a pain. Valerie's crippling illness leaves her hospitalised, bored out of her mind, dreaming of how she just wants to be a normal teenager. Although her thoughts are constantly intruded by someone. The boy. She was intrigued by him, he visited everyday at the same time, 2:47pm. She wanted to know his story, why was he here? Is he visiting someone? Her curiosity overflowed her. Anyways, it didn't matter, for her illness was getting better and she could finally get back to school. Sophomore year. Gosh. She could finally be a normal teenager. Then she saw "him" in the school hallways. The boy. Although he seemed different, less warm, more cold. It was like he put up a façade and barricaded his true self. I don't remember the exact moment she became important. I just know there was a time when I could breathe without her-and now there isn't. The world sees a love story. I see a weakness wearing the face of an angel. Because the truth is- I'd burn every bridge, break every rule, and fight every storm... Just to hear her say my name one more time. She calls it love. I call it the most beautiful obsession I've ever known. And if loving her ruins me one day... Then let me be ruined.
