CatNap's friends all disappeared without a trace. He keeps on looking for answers on their whereabouts, but it all leads to nowhere. Occasionally, CatNap thinks that he hears their voices, it's all in his head. Fifteen years after their disappearance, CatNap swears that he can hear their voices more clearly.
After DogDay's death in the factory, he returns to the cartoon world and sees all of his friends but a certain purple cat is missing. Good riddance.
(In this au, all of the critters minus CatNap are forced to go into the factory. They come back 13 years later to find a difference in their cartoon world. The cartoon version of the Smiling Critters are AI programs for the bigger bodies project. They get mixed in with the souls but get separated once they die, meaning that the Smiling Critters go back to their world with the memories of the real world while the souls just disappear.)

The Smiling critters consist of: DogDay (Dog) (Wears a sun pendant)- Strong and Determined CatNap (Cat) (Wears a crescant moon pendant)- Calm and loves to sleep! This series will have the critters going on adventures, playing games, learning lessons, and living their everyday lives. There even may be a potential romance! I want everyone to know that this series is not relevant to the lore of Poppy Playtime it's fanfiction. I know in the original lore they were children who were made into toys. Y/N L/N was just a normal orphaned child but doesn't have many friends in his life and his only friends are the smiling critters gang made by playtime Co, a family friendly toy company that made that amazing toys like huggy wuggy, mommy long legs and the one and only poppy playtime herself. Y/N had a really had time sleeping at night as a dedicated and talented scientist decided to let y/n test out their latest new toy known as catnap, a purple cat that emits sleeping gas from her mouth that can put anyone to sleep, which actually worked really well as y/n gets to keep the toy from the scientist as a gift and became best friends with catnap as they both played together in dreamland along with the rest of the smiling critters. Y/N could never been happier until the catnap toys were recalled and Playco. was shut down after some "incidents" that happened behind closed doors. But then, many years later after y/n graduated college and is now 21 years old, he was dared by his so-called friends that were completely drunk as hell to go into the factory and stay there for a whole night as y/n soon found himself back at playcare, completely run down and abandoned. he eventually found the smiling critters in the factory that are all filled with so much joy to see their old friends back and now they don't want him to leave as they are determined to turn him into a smiling critters like them so he can be with them...forever. Authors note: just a heads up, this is NON-CANNON with any of poppy playtime. Instead, it'll be my own version of poppy playtime, and there will be some moments based around the actual game.Completa
