A witch binds Darren to Hope, in the hopes that love might change him, resulting in a telepathic connection that has Darren visiting Hope every night in her dreams. While Darren becomes insanely infatuated with her at once, Hope only thinks he's a figment of her imagination. Things take a different turn of events, however, when Hope realizes everything may not be what it seems. One thing she realizes the hard way; Darren is real and he is hell bent on finding her.
"It won't be long now, love" he said, his voice sending shivers down my spine. "I'm getting closer, I can feel it." He turned me around to face him. "I know" I said regretfully. "Come on, Hope. Accept it, you will be mine" he said softly, his thumb grazing my cheek. "I've accepted, but that doesn't mean I'm happy about it" I said coldly. "But it would all be so much easier if you just stop being so stubborn, and tell me where you are" he said, sounding a bit annoyed. I looked up into his icy eyes, the same ones that I had found so beautiful once. "Dream on" I spat, but he merely smirked. "I already am, aren't I?" he said, his breath fanning my face. "But this dream will come true, very soon, when I finally find you. And I will find you... it's just a matter of time."

"That was weird, but I can't stop my heart beating ten times faster than it should be. Laying down on the bed I face away from the bathroom door not wanting him to look at me. I pull the white cover up to my nose and look at the wall. I hear the bathroom door open and footsteps reach closer to the bed. The covers are being moved behind me as Mateo gets ready to sleep. I reach up to turn off the lap on my nightstand, and when I do we're left in the dark abyss of my room. Mateo's arm wraps itself around my waist and pulls me back into his hard chest. He gently lifts my head up and puts it back down onto his bicep. I take in a shaky breath and close my eyes deciding it is best to just sleep. Feeling his breath on the crown of my head, I'm more relaxed than I was before and start feeling sleepier by the second. But before sleep overtakes my mind. I hear Mateo mutter something. "Good night sweetheart." ~~~~~~ Moving on. Growing up. The fears of Mateo and Veronica. Two strangers who have been attending the same high school for the past three years.
