Kaiden is medium and and villain.

In this world you are either a hero, a villain or a nobody/human; people born without abilities. It is decided whether or not people with abilities are heros or villains by the nature of their power. If their powers are to do with darkness or shadows they are deemed villains against their will same with the opposite powers and heros.

To avoid this some ability users keep their abilities a secret.

This is what Kaiden did.
