Nearly 60 years later, Elizabeth has passed away. While cleaning out her childhood home with her brother, Elizabeth's adult daughter, Lily, finds a stack of journals hidden in the bottom of a chest filled with Elizabeth's high school memorabilia. Inside she finds decades of writings by her mother, detailing this life she dreamt of with Patrick.
Unable to part with the journals, Lily reads through them all. She discovers so much about her mother and ends up setting out to find this man her mother loved so greatly - Patrick.
