When she was 15 years old, Elizabeth met her  first love, Patrick. They dated for years but eventually things didn't work out. They each went on their separate paths and ended up marrying different people and having families. 

Nearly 60 years later, Elizabeth has passed away. While cleaning out her childhood home with her brother, Elizabeth's adult daughter, Lily, finds a stack of journals hidden in the bottom of a chest filled with Elizabeth's high school memorabilia. Inside she finds decades of writings by her mother, detailing this life she dreamt of with Patrick.
