Kyaire and Benét come from completely different worlds. Kyaire, kicked out by his mother at a young age, now lives with his sick grandmother and is forced to make ends meet once bills start piling up. Besides his home life, he is picked on at school by peers and fellow classmates for not having the best clothes or shoes and his unfortunate background. After her mother has been relocated to Baton Rouge due to her duties as a travel nurse, Benét, who comes from a more financially stable home and supportive background, is forced to restart her senior year and ends up taking an interest in Kyaire. As their worlds collide and more personal challenges come their way, they learn from each other and prosper.
