Some brief profanity, as well as a couple of homophobic slurs. Slightly more graphic and violent than the Last Knights of Cambia series, though nothing overt. Some mild sensuality, two character kiss. It is discussed characters have kissed. Another two characters embrace in what could be perceived as a romantic manner. Family/domestic violence that may be upsetting to some readers.Complete

Similar narrative style and tone, that is if you want English history explained like Lemony Snicket, then this is for you. Ahem. Living people die, dead people live. Swords. Epic Battles. Mysterious riddles. Coded messages. True love. Traitors. Murder. Found families. Yes, Henry V is here and he is awesome. Did we mention swords? Tombs are described in loving detail. People are not. Yes you may learn something about the battle of Shrewsberry but that's a risk you're going to have to take. Content/Trigger Warning: A battle is depicted at length, relatively graphic blood/gore associated with that. A character is injured severely and must twice undergo surgery on page, this is fairly graphic and may be disturbing to some readers. Brief innuendo. Some brief strong language. Some mild sexuality. Catholicism is discussed. All disturbing scenes are usually forewarned, that is it's clear what is going to happen. Some brief peril. Some light disturbing humor relating to murder. Such things may seem intimidating, yet Wren continues to stay true to herself and strive to become a renowned composer, doing everything in her power to ignore the fact that she now lives in a den of supernatural beings. Though as the days go by, she gets closer to those around her, eventually finding herself receiving the attention of four vampires who are inexplicably drawn to her. Content warnings: • respectful treatment of women and queer people; • positive depictions of polyamory and polifidelity; • consensual intimacy (trust me there are people out there that need this CW); • graphic sex scenes (straight, gay, threesome). Gideon Saint is fairly certain Saxon bowmen are more agreeable than Year 10s. Life is going good, or at least okay. He's surviving British public school, newly emancipated from his parents, and in his spare time he and his Welsh friends are surviving as rebels. But they can't forever, and King Henry is proposing a bargain. In return for Gideon's help against the French, namely Joan of Arc, England will grant Wales some level of independence. But Joan of Arc is a formidable adversary, and Gideon is well aware King Henry is not to be trusted. The fate of Wales hangs in the balance. Tales of Cambria Book 2: Legend of the Fox
Finding a portal to a magical realm really isn't all it's cracked up to be. Cassian's been enslaved tortured, nearly executed, hunted for sport, and finally narrowly escaped the English forces with his life. Now he's determined to get back to his friends in Wales and try to help them set things right...before his own time runs out. Facing enemies in the past and the present, Cassian must maintain control in two timelines if he hopes to save his new allies, and himself. Unholy alliances, and of course kidnappings, abound. No foxes were harmed in the writing of this book, but plenty of people were. Ahem. Dead people live, living people die. Sword fights. Sieges. Torture. Revenge. Dark humor. Edmund Crouchback is still the main antagonist and the funniest character. Dragons are here. Edward the Second is still a precious cinnamon roll. Everyone is some level of bisexual disaster. Yes you may learn like 1/2 a thing about the 1200s but that's a risk you're going to have to take. Trigger/ Content Warning: Same as the previous book. Some profanity. Some dark humor. The narrating character has a traumatic past of abuse which is mentioned briefly. Trauma/loss are discussed. Some fantasy violence/peril. Similar gore as 'Stranger Things' or the 'Hunger Games'.Complete
The Last Knights of Cambria Book 1: Echoes of Gideon
Gideon Saint is dying for something exciting to happen in his life. With his love of history, he figures an internship at the museum has to be a good start, right? Anything is better than listening to his parents argue or sitting alone in his room doing research no one but him seems to care about. A chance encounter with a magical ring leaves him transported to an alternate version of ancient Wales, or as it was sometimes called, Cambria. 1432 Wales, to be exact. Here magic is the most powerful weapon of all as kings vie for power. Good thing Gideon's teleportation from the present has also left him with the ability to use magic, and he's quickly regarded as a powerful wizard. In this timeline, Wales maintained it's independence, but that's about to change. Henry V is on the throne of the England, and the greatest warrior king England has ever had has set his sights on Wales. Can Gideon help save his newfound friends and master his new powers, while living a double life in the 21st century? Ahem, living people die, dying people live, Henry V is here and he's awesome despite being the main antagonist, everybody is vaguely gay, swords are described in loving detail, people are not, lovely platonic friendships, did we mention swords? Yes, you may learn something about history, but that's a risk you'll have to take. Basically, think of this as a Percy Jackson type of adventure, but it's historical fiction instead of Greek gods. The narrator is 15 and the major supporting characters are 14, 17, and 19. That said, there's nothing in the way of content that's inappropriate for a younger reader. As always if you're not here to go on a fun little adventure find a different story. Trigger/Content: very mild language, some magic violence, fantasy violence. Self-harm is briefly discussed. Adoption issues are discussed as well as brief scenes of a abusive family. Characters briefly mention crushes and or dating, no real innuendos.Complete
