Mori's forbiddance for Dazai to exist as something other than a glimpse of perfection sent Dazai into a spiral of his own apathy and putrid ignorance to his real 'emotions'. If he could even call them that. It was laughable, really. 
   While picking up an odd job after being fired from the last one for being caught in sexual relations with another staff member during working hours, Dazai meets one of the most sickeningly annoying people he's ever known.
