A woman who dedicated herself to an unending cycle of guilt; she was constantly going around in circles. Lost in the mist there, she realized. Hoping that she'll be found and validated one day.

Will she be spared or will she drown even further in the utter darkness?

Alone, Empty, and Helpless.

With the help of a fleeting glimpse of light that she sees in the surface of water from above, she vowed to be on top of it and see the world itself for its beauty.

Fortunately, someone extended their hand in the cold and empty darkness- lending his aid that will mark the end of her misery.

"Will you take my hand?" he uttered.

Afraid and Trembling. She reached out.

This starts the love born of guilt-depraved and barely hanging on.

A love beyond repair; like twisted waters.

She wanted to die. He wanted to live. ••• A hand grabbed onto my wrist, yanking me back just as the train rushed past, before I'd even had time to comprehend whether or not I'd carry out the action. I stumbled back into the person's chest, my heart jumping out as I swivelled around, startled to find myself staring into piercing dark brown eyes. "Were you going to jump?!" "No," I drawled out sarcastically, ignoring the intensity of his eyes as they bore into my own, "I just stand on the edge of train platforms at midnight because I feel like it." Seeing the stranger tense, I stepped away from the edge, feeling his hand let go of mine as I picked up my bag before moving to sit down on one of the platform benches. Letting out an evident sigh of relief, he sat down after tentative movements towards me, and I could feel his intense gaze raking across my features. His eyes never left me, I was sure of it, with every step both he and I had taken. "Are you okay?" He had asked warily, apparent apprehension in his deep voice while he spoke, "Do you want to talk about it?" "What's there to talk about?" I threw his question back at him, watching him study me for a few critical moments before his potent gaze switched to our surroundings. "I did just watch you nearly kill yourself; that might be a place to start?" ••• She didn't expect for a complete stranger to stop her milliseconds away from committing suicide. She didn't expect him to be so kindhearted and patient. He didn't expect to stop her from jumping in front of a train the first time they met. He didn't expect to find himself falling for the one girl he knew he shouldn't. [Word Count: 180,000 - 200,000]

[NOW TRADITIONALLY PUBLISHED WORLDWIDE] "A life of happiness would be hell on earth." • When Grace finally decided to end her life, the last thing she expected was to meet a stranger simply gazing at the stars, dangling his feet over the edge of the bridge, exactly where she had planned to jump into the abyss and end it all. What was supposed to be the last hour of Grace's life becomes the hour in which she poured her drunken, broken heart out to a stranger over a bottle of scotch and a fresh round of tears. However, before they parted their ways, the stranger offered her a deal: she must promise to hold on to her life for another seventeen days, and afterwards, she could do with it whatever she'd like. He promise to even attend her funeral if he couldn't change her mind. But why seventeen days? And why did this stranger even care? There was more to him than what met the eye, and compelled by her own curiosity, Grace couldn't refuse. Maybe these seventeen days will only prolong her suffering. Or maybe they'll open her eyes to a part of life she never knew existed, full of hope for a brighter future. And maybe, just maybe, she'll learn to fall in love. • [FEATURED UNDER NEW ADULT, YOUNG ADULT, GENERAL FICTION, HUMOR & ROMANCE] • [Extended summary inside] [Started: 1 February'2020] [Finished: 24 January'2021] ©️prettyimbecile
