Masha Ansari is a southern-raised girl who has been an ambitious girl ever since she was a young child. With immigrant parents and being the middle child of her family, she always felt a sense of neglect and disappointment. Her dream was to go live in Thailand with her best friend Lola but things drastically change when Masha's problematic mother gets a hold of her savings and ruins her chances of living her dream.

Devasted and defeated, Masha's friend Lola helps Masha get a job at a doctor's office, but there's one downside of the job that Masha didn't think she could come to terms with. She would work Zhao Han, one of the most cutthroat surgeons in America.

Mr. Han is abrasive, uptight, and sometimes lacks social cues. Both of them are stubborn, but deep down the two both need each other, even if they claim that they can't stand each other.
