April Morris is a student athlete at Manhattan. She plays volleyball and basketball and watches her brother's friends play football. Her brother, Crutchy Morris, who lost his leg in a car accident at ten years old, is the biggest sweetheart everyone has met. That quality did not stretch to April. She's always testing the limits of everyone she ever meets. Maybe that's why she's drawn to the one person she shouldn't be. Spot Conlon.

Spot Conlon is a student athlete at Brooklyn. He plays football and basketball. Over the summer, he met this girl that instantly sparked something inside of him. But once school starts up, there's one problem. She goes to Manhattan and is best friends with Racetrack Higgins, Spot's biggest rival on the football field and the basketball court.
