Cage works in the Kings dungeon, she has for as long as she can remember, but that's only for the last year. Before that, she has no idea who she was. She doesn't even know her real name. Her only friends are the prisoners, people full of stories that fill her up, make her feel less alone. The only other person who seems to care for Cage is Hale, the Prince. And Cage suspects that Hale knows all about her past, but he refuses to tell her anything.
Then, one day, Cage hears a plot for escape. But, surely she can't let her friends escape, that would be breaking the law. But Cage must've broken the law before, or why have her memory wiped? Also, she could help her friends be free, maybe escape herself. Because the dungeons are as much a prison for the prisoners as for her. Cage may even find out who she is if she goes outside. Maybe it isn't such a bad idea to break out after all..
