For my final semester at Flagler College, I focused on compiling a collection of poetry. I originally hoped for ten to twelve poems, but I had slightly more to say than I thought so the final collection includes thirteen works. This collection explores the complexity of interpersonal relationships and the individual's need for connection. More specifically, I touched on topics such as sexuality, gender identity, grief, neurodivergence, and religious trauma. After going through a particularly heartbreaking friendship breakup in the fall of 2021, I had created a significant body of work that tracked my grieving and healing processes. I also recently learned that I am neurodivergent, which has been enlightening in many ways, both in my poetry and my daily life. Because of my sexuality and neurodivergence, friendships and relationships are difficult to find and keep, which has always made me feel alone and misunderstood. This collection is meant for all those who also feel misunderstood.
