[Book #1 of Wicked clan series] I knew my facade would be stripped naked with no heads up the moment his eyes landed on me What could possibly happen? if I met my dad's best friend's son at a party? not much? hell what a freaking joke a lot happened, a lot. All my life I built those walls, keeping the human community away, far away from my authentic self, because being pitied upon isn't exactly what I was made for. except him, he didn't pity, but only offered a dangerous threat of stripping my facade. and while I could've passed a laugh on such a cinematic line. His words didn't mean cinematic, not even a bit. Mama told me that I was a beautiful girl when I was little. Mama said that I had the prettiest tan skin, soft wavy black hair, and the most enchanting emerald eyes. She always called me her bundle of joy. Then she got very sad when she told me that I didn't have a voice. I was only two at the time. I didn't understand any of the former English gibberish.
