Adam Ruzek has a younger sister Hannah Ruzek who Graduated from the Police Academy, he is protective of his sister always was looking out for her and making sure she is taken care of.
They are close she looks up to Adam he is her big brother after all. The intelligence unit of the 21st district is in a bind with an open spot and Jay Halstead needing a a partner Adam is quick to suggest his sister fills the spot. Hank Voight accepts that Hannah join them.
She becomes Jay Halstead's partner Jay is not really trusting of his third partner his first two partners he fell in love with them and they left without telling him he had to find out from Voight so he is trying to keep Hannah at arms length.
They try so hard to not get close to each other but they can't help it. Adam falls in love with Macy Simmons from the fic A CHANGE WORTH TAKING By @mandatoryHavoc - Amanda Purcell but in a twist it ends up Macy and Jay are meant to be and they find out they are more perfectly matched and never want to let the other go. Hannah ends up with Antonio and Adam ends up realising Melly His Partner in intelligence and him are truly meant to be.
( so this is like Erin Lindsay left and then Hailey left in the same fashion that Erin left. So Jay is broody and closed off and not trusting. )
