Why is the mid-lifer forgotten? I believe mid-life is the next most difficult stage of life next to adolescence and requires strategic navigation while juggling emotions, unlearning previous life roles, and learning who we are again. In mid-life, if you are a parent, your children may be adults and leaving home, rendering you an empty nester and, in my case, alone after years of having kids in my home. Mid-life is the stage where parents are aging, and you become their caretaker. Mid-life is the stage where we probably have the most honest opinions of ourselves, and we either like who we are so far or ready to make savage changes.
