A Day In His Arms

Ocean Ohara is a seventeen-year-old girl dealing with the emotions of rejection and abandonment from her father. She is sent to live with her grandparents when meets a mysterious boy Nolan, who seems to be carrying the weight of his demons on his back.
The two spend time together right before the start of the new school year. Nolan confides in Ocean and the two share a bond only they understand, but is this enough to save them? Or will Nolan's demons finally consume him?

"You hide yourself from the world, afraid that if you care too much or show too much they'd leave." Our eyes are locked, mines never leaving his afraid that I'd break our moment. "Like your dad." He finishes, inching closer the tips of our noses gently touching.

"And you?" I whispered.

"What about me?" He whispers back.

"You hide yourself from everyone because you're hurt and you want someone to see, but you don't want to be saved." My hands trace the light scar on his chin, I glance down to see his lips slightly parted.

"Why is that?" I asked.

"Because," He leans, his lips barely grazes mine but it is enough for me to close my eyes. The feel of him in front of me disappears and before me is the rippling of water where he once was. I gasp as I feel his breath tickle the back of my ears.

"There is nothing left to save."
