Fallon Firebird is the son of the Firebird demon. His dad was sent to the Isle of the Lost where Fallon was born.

When Fallon gets invited to go to Auradon along with four other villain kids he only goes because his dad wants a better life for Fallon then the Isle of the Lost

Fallon doesn't care about the VKs plans to steal fairy godmother wand. All he wants is to go to school, find his mom, and figure out how to get his dad off the Isle
