Jenna Lade is just an ordinary girl, but her stepfather was a shadowhunter. In that way she has always been special, yet she is still just human.
After her stepfather is killed by a demon, Jenna decides to she wants to Ascend and is sent to the New York Institute to train.
At first the New York Shadowhunters don't accpet Jenna, but she is very special and something unexplainable to the shadow hunting world. And that secret power might just be what the shadowhunters need as they enter one of the biggest wars in the history of shadowhunters.
*the shadowhunter world belongs to Cassandra Clare, but I made up most of the names of the characters (using the shadowhunters codex).
