April walked over and took the diadem, looking at it lovingly. "it belonged to my mother," she said, her voice sounding far-off, "Dad found it and told me she wanted me to wear it to my first dance."

Donnie only wishes he could be the one to take her to that dance.

But when a terrible turn of events comes around, will Donnie be able to step up and finally win the girl of his dreams? Read and find out!



Also, I had trouble deciding what April's trinket should be, so if anywhere in the story it says 'necklace', I apologize, it IS a diadem.
The timeline in this particular may be a bit skewed, and this was the first book I ever created on Wattpad, but I assure you it is worth the read (toward the end, at least ':D) Enjoy!

April O'Neil: So, you wrote a book... Me: A long-ass book. April: A long-ass book! How did it come about? Me: Well, actually, I was just looking for a xreader story with an adult Donnie, where the female character is strong and independent, doesn't need to be rescued all the time, and isn't a giggling schoolgirl. April: And you didn't find anything? Me: Don't get me wrong, April! There are so incredibly great fanfics and xreader stories out there, and I ate them all up! But I needed a new kick and I wanted something epic, dramatic that involved the mystical powers of the turtles and their further developments. April: And then you started writing yourself? Me: The story came about on its own. In my head. And at some point I just had to write it down, otherwise I would have exploded. With the writing, it didn't become a typical xreader story with the "y/n" in it, because that had irritated me. I know that the "y/n" comes out of an inclusive thought, and I think that's good and right. Unfortunately it blocked me, the heroine in my story was too complex and too concrete, and so I gave it up, even if it was no longer a real xreader story. April: And now you're writing a second book? Me: Exactly. The sequel. I'm on it. April: Do you want to give us a little teaser? Me: Well, there's still Leo and his complicated relationship with my heroine.
